The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry( IUPAC) 2022 GLOBAL WOMEM’S BREAKFAST conference was held on Tuesday, February 16, 2020 at Multipurpose Hall, Main Campus ,UNIUYO. Other bodies in attendance were :WOMEN IN SCIENCE, NWISTEM, ICEESR, CSN and OWSD. The theme for this year’s event ” Empowering Diversity in Science: A Global Networking Event”.

The event aimed at celebrating women in science who have distinguished themselves in their various carriers in science in order to encourage girls in secondary schools to pursue science oriented courses in Tertiary Institutions as was related by the AKS’s Coordinator, Dr.Edu Inam. Among the secondary schools that attended the conference were: Adiaha Obong Secondary School, Community Secondary School Aka Offot, Immaculate Conception Secondary School etc.

Presenting a lecture on the topic:  “BECOMING A GLOBAL ICON WITH STEM”; the Provost Collage of Health Sciences, UNIUYO, Prof, Enobong Ikpeme, advised students in secondary schools to be focused, disciplined and hard working.
