PROGRAMME OFFERED WITH ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
1)Bachelor of Science (Education) [B.Sc (Ed) ]in Physical Education
(B.Sc(Ed) Physical Education)
Admission Requirements
Admission through UME/UTME
Admission into Bachelor’s Degree programme in Physical Education is through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The entry requirements seek to ensure that those admitted have the necessary preparedness to benefit from the programme.
For entry into the B.Sc Physical Education programme, candidates must possess at least one of the following:
a) WASC/GCE/ (O/L)/SSSC and/or NECO with credit passes in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, chemistry, or equivalent qualifications (e.g., Merit pass in the Teachers’ Grade II Certificate is recognised as equivalent to credit pass in the WASC/GCE/(O/L)/SSC, and NECO) in not more than two sittings.
b) Satisfactory performance in the UME/UTME
b) Satisfactory performance as determined by the University of Uyo Aptitude Test.
c) Evidence of successful completion of the Pre-Degree Programme of the University of Uyo, plus O/L requirements.
Admission through Direct Entry
c) Holders of N.C.E. in Health Education or Physical and Health Education with O/L requirements.
e) OND/ND in related fields, plus O/L requirements.
f) Bachelor Degree or HND in related fields from a recognised institution, plus O/L requirements.
2) Bachelor of Science (Education) [B.Sc (Ed)] Health Education (B.Sc(Ed) Health Education)
Admission Requirements
Admission into the Bachelor Degree programme in Health Education is through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The entry requirements are as follows:
Admission through UME/UTME
(a) WASC/GCE/(O/L) SSSC and NECO with credit passes in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Health Science in not more than two sittings; or equivalent qualifications (e.g., Merit in the Teachers’ Grade II Certificate is recognised as equivalent to credit pass in the WASC/GCE/ (O/L)/SSSC and NECO).
(b) Satisfactory performance in the UME/UTME.
(c) Satisfactory performance in the University of Uyo Aptitude Test.
(d) Evidence of successful completion of the Pre-Degree programme of the University of Uyo.
Admission through Direct Entry
Candidates seeking admission into direct entry programme should possess in addition to Ordinary Level (O/L) requirements, one of the following:
(a) N.C.E. in Health Education, Physical and Health Education with a minimum of Merit in related courses.
(b) RN and RM, Diploma in Public Health, Health Education or Environmental Health.
(c) Bachelor Degree, or Higher National Diploma (HND) in related area from a recognised institutions.
3. Master of Science (Education) [M.Sc (Ed.)] in Administration and Organisation of Physical Education and Sport (M.Sc(Ed) Administration and Organisation of Physical Education and Sport)
4. Master of Science Education [M.Sc (Ed.)] in Sociology and Psychology of Sport (M.Sc(Ed) Sociology and Psychology of Sport)
Admission Requirements
a) Candidates for admission into the programme shall be graduates of the University of Uyo and other Universities recognised by the Senate of the University of Uyo. Candidates shall be holders of at least Second Class (Lower Division) in Physical Education and Health Education of not less than a CGPA of 2.75 on a-5-point scale.
b) Candidates with at least Second Class Degree and a CGPA of at least 2.75 on a-5-point scale in related sciences plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Physical Education (PGDPE) may be eligible for admission into the programme.
c) Candidates with a third-class in Physical Education plus a postgraduate Diploma in Physical Education with an average score of not less than 60% may be considered.
d) In addition, candidates must possess credit passes in five subjects including English Language at ordinary levels.
5) Master of Science (Education) [M.Sc (Ed)] in Community Health (M.Sc(Ed) Community Health)
6) Master of Science (Education) [M.Sc (Ed)] in School Health
(M.Sc(Ed) School Health)
Admission Requirements
a) Candidates for admission into the programme shall be graduates of the University of Uyo and other Universities recognised by the Senate of the University of Uyo. Candidates shall be holders of at least Second Class (Lower Division) in Health Education and/or Physical Education, or Nursing Sciences, MBBS of not less than a CGPA of 2.75 on a-5-point scale.
b) Candidates with at least Second Class Degree and a CGPA of at least 2.75 on a-5-point scale in related sciences plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Education (PGDPE), or Public Health, or Community Health, may be eligible for admission into the programme.
c) Candidates with a third-class in Health Education plus a postgraduate Diploma in Health Education (PGDPE), or Public Health, or Community Health, or Physical Education with an average score of not less than 60% may be considered.
d) In addition, candidates must possess credit passes in five subjects including English Language at ordinary levels.
