PROGRAMMES OFFERED WITH ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
B.Sc. (Ed) POLITICAL SCIENCE (Full Time and Part Time)
Admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
A Candidate must possess O’Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Government or History and Credits in any two of the following: Economics, Geography, Christian Religious Knowledge, Literature in English, and French at not more than two sittings.
Admission by Direct Entry
1. A ‘Merit’ grade or above in three relevant subjects (including Education) at the NCE obtained from a recognized institution. In addition to five O’Level credits in subjects English Language, Government or History and Mathematics.
2. At least two credit passes at GCE Advanced level or its equivalent in relevant subjects plus three other subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent including English Language, Government or history and Mathematics.
B.Sc. (Ed) ECONOMICS (Full Time and Part Time)
Admission through the United Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME)
A Candidate must possess five O’Level Credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent in subjects including Economics, English Language, Mathematics and any other two Social Science subjects at not more than two sittings.
Admission by Direct Entry

B.Sc. (Ed) GEOGRAPHY (Full Time and Part Time)
Admission through the United Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME)
A Candidate must possess five O’Level credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent in Geography, English Language, Mathematics and two other Social Sciences subjects at not more than two sittings.
Admission by Direct Entry
1. A ‘Merit’ grade or above in three relevant subjects (including Education) at the NCE obtained from a recognized institution. In addition to five credits in Ordinary Lev el papers including English Language, Geography and Mathematics.
2. At least two credit passes at GCE Advanced level or its equivalent in relevant subjects plus three other Social Science subject at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent including English Language, Geography and Mathematics.
B.Ed. SOCIAL STUDIES (Full Time and Part Time)
Admission through the United Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME)
A Candidate must possess five O’Level credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent including English Language, Mathematics and three of either humanities or Social Science subjects at not more than two sittings.
Admission by Direct Entry
1. A ‘Merit’ grade or above in three relevant subjects (including Education) in the NCE obtained from a recognized institution. In addition, five O’Level credits in subjects including English Language and Mathematics must be possessed by the Candidate.
2. At least two credit passes at GCE Advanced level or its equivalent in relevant subjects plus three other subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent including English Language and Mathematics.
B.Ed. GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING (Full Time and Part Time)
Admission through the United Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME)
A Candidate must possess five O’Level credits in the Senior Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent in English Language and Mathematics and credits in any other three subjects in the Arts or Social Sciences at not more than two sittings.
Admission by Direct Entry
1. A ‘Merit’ grade or above in three relevant subjects (including Education) at the NCE obtained from a recognized institution. In addition to five credits at Ordinary Level in English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects in the Arts or Social Sciences.
2. At least two credit passes at GCE Advanced Level or its equivalent in relevant subjects plus three other subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent including English Language and Mathematics.
M.Ed. in GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING (Full time)
Admission into the Master’s Degree programme in Guidance and Counselling shall be done through application by candidates with the understated qualifications:
(a) Graduates of the University of Uyo or other approved universities with at least a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 in an education related discipline.
(b) Candidates for admission into the M.Ed degree in Guidance and Counselling must have at least 5 credits in relevant O’level subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
(c) Candidates who hold other qualifications whose detailed academic records are considered satisfactory by the Senate of the University of Uyo may also be admitted into the programme.
M.Ed. in EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (Full time)
Admission into the Master’s Degree programme in Educational Psychology shall be done through application by candidates with the understated qualifications:
(a) Graduates of the University of Uyo or other approved universities with at least a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 in an education related discipline.
(b) Candidates for admission into the M.Ed degree in Educational Psychology must have at least five(5) credits in relevant O’level subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
(c) Candidates who hold other qualifications whose detailed academic records are considered satisfactory by the Senate of the University of Uyo may also be admitted into the programme.
M.Ed. in EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION (Full time)
Admission into the Master’s Degree programme in Educational Evaluation shall be done through application by candidates with the understated qualifications:
(a) Graduates of the University of Uyo or other approved universities with at least a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 in an education related discipline.
(b) Candidates for admission into the M.Ed degree in Educational Evaluation must have at least 5 credits in relevant O’level subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
