archDr. Samuel Okon Ebong is a senior lecturer, the Acting Head of the Department of Architecture and a member of the Senate, University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria.

He is a chartered architect, construction manager and a development administrator. He holds a B.Arch. (Hons) degree from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, MSc (Construction Management) from University of Uyo and a PhD (Architecture) degree from Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger state, Nigeria, specializing in Design against Crime.

He also holds a Professional Postgraduate Diploma (Development Administration) of the Institute of Development Administration of Nigeria. His professional and academic careers span over 30 years. He has served in the University of Uyo as member, Faculty of Environmental Studies Management Committee, Faculty of Environmental Studies Think-Tank Committee, Chairman of Department of Architecture Board of Studies, Chairman of Department of Architecture Curriculum Review Committee, Secretary of the Department of Architecture Examination Board and other committees.

He has published book chapters, conference papers and several peer reviewed articles in local and international academic journals.

His areas of research interest and specialization are Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED), Design against Crime (DAC) and Construction Management.
He worked with Niger Consultants (Architects and Planners), Kaduna between 1984 and 1993 before setting up his practice, Multiworks Nigeria Ltd.

He has been actively involved in design, construction and supervision of projects such as design/resident architect, Katsina state secretariat complex, design/resident architect, United States Compound, Maitama, Abuja, design/resident architect, Centre of Excellence project, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and Barth Ebong lecture theatre, University of Uyo among several others. He is a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), member of the International Association of Critical Infrastructure Protection Professionals and Design Principles and Practice Research Network.

He is married with children.
