‎VC INAUGURATES UAMCOS HOUSE, EXTOLS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE ON EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Uyo, Prof. Christopher Ekong, has extolled the President of UAMCOS, Prof. Eme Joseph, and her Management Committee for high display of exemplary leadership in delivering a well-furnished, standard edifice for the Cooperative Society.

‎Prof. Ekong made the commendation on Monday, June 29, 2026, during the inauguration of the new UAMCOS House at the Main Campus, Nwaniba Road, where he served as Chairman on the occasion.
‎
‎Describing the building as magnificent and befitting, the Vice-Chancellor stated that, it is sometime rare for leadership to fulfill its promises, but Prof. Joseph has not failed the members of staff in performing

‎Addressing the gathering, the UAMCOS President, Prof. Eme Joseph appreciated the members for their support and thanked the University Management for attending the commissioning. She eulogized the Vice-Chancellor’s fatherly support, noting that with it, the Society will continue to thrive. Madam President disclosed that the building has several compartments to serve members’ needs.

‎Earlier, the UAMCOS Vice President, Prof. Uwem Akpan, who set the tone for the ceremony, welcomed participants and stated that the building was raised and completed within a short period.

‎Goodwill messages were delivered by the representative of ASUU National, Prof. Aniekan Brown; ASUU UNIUYO Branch Chairman, Prof. Olajide Opeyemi; and President of UNICOOP, Comrade Felix Edem.
‎
‎Delivering a Vote of Thanks, the Secretary, Prof. Nsikan Senam, appreciated the dignitaries for making the occasion worthwhile successful, and prayed God for journey mercies.
‎
‎The highpoints of the event was a guided tour of the facility by the Vice-Chancellor, accompanied by the UAMCOS Management Committee and Board of Trustees, followed by the dedication of the building to God.
‎
‎In attendance were the Registrar, Mrs. Blossom Okorie; Bursar, Dr. Moses Akpan; University Librarian, Dr. Thomas Adigun; Senior Pastor of Insight Bible Church, Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia; Prof. Enobong Joshua; Deans of Faculties; and other senior professionals.

‎The UAMCOS House is equipped with a conference room, restaurant, snacks bar, shop, and other facilities for members.
