DISCLAIMER: Top-Up Degree Programmes in 2026/2027
The attention of the Management, University of Uyo, has been drawn to a fake, wrongly narrated and unverified advertisement circulating on different social media platforms, inviting applicants and qualified candidates for admissions into the University of Uyo Top-Up Degree Programmes in the 2026/2027 Academic Session purportedly claimed to have been released through the School of Continuing Education & Professional Studies, and signed by the Registrar of the University, Mrs. Blossom E. Okorie.
The advert reads in part: UNIVERSITY OF UYO, SCHOOL OF CONTUING EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL STUDIES: Applications are invited from Qualified Candidates for admission into the University of Uyo Top-Up Degree Programmes in the 2026/2027 Academic Session. The Charlatans, in their well-crafted sinister plot also claimed that the applicants are requested to buy the forms at #35, 000.00 (Thirty-Five Thousand Naira) each.
This advertisement online did not originate from us. Categorically, the University has not approved, authorised or accredited such Top-Up Degree Programmes.
To say the least, the Management of the University frowns at this poorly syndicated narrative and free-for-all storyline pushed around the internet simply to dent the image of our highly reputed Centre of Academic Excellence which is known for standard and quality learning. Consequently, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Uyo, Professor Christopher N. Ekong, expresses displeasure on this fabricated story, and calls on members of the public to discard the advertisement.
Signed
Mrs. Blossom E. Okorie
